Personal Statement for Master of Psychology

Although “psychology” was expected to feel good, when individuals hear it, they quickly invoke outrageous considerations. The general population would see somebody who looked for mental assistance as crazy. When I first revealed my plans to study psychology to my family, it was clear that they had a misconception of how the profession worked. I explained to them why I had a shift in perspective. During my entire degree, I was a part-time listener for Let’s Talk Company. Furthermore, doing active listening work propelled me to seek a career that could aid people. Here, I learned about emotional well-being issues and perceived what listening can mean for other people. When things aren’t working out well, the vast majority need somebody they can be totally honest with. Active listening can significantly affect individuals. Let’s Talk gave us an amazing chance to converse. I needed to go through some preparation so I could start my obligations. That preparation gave me the right direction in psychology and acquainted me with thoughts that guide the technique, similar to how characters develop and how validity (receptiveness and mindfulness) lead to compatibility building.

My longing to study diverse psychological theories and practises was ignited by my work at Let’s Talk and I used my favourite pastime—reading—for that. I found different books through reading, and a bunch of them truly provoked my curiosity. The confounded collaborations between various natural and social components that could influence feelings and ways of behaving were clarified to me when I read “How Feelings Are Made,” which likewise acquainted me with various different mental claims to fame.

Now that I am working as part-time care staff in a local mental well-being centre, I have had the valuable chance to obtain information about different mental procedures and their purposes in different situations. I took in a few strategies for assessing client circumstances and how therapists managed clients to lay out a sound mind by investing energy with clients and psychologists. I was inspired to apply for a residency in psychology in light of the emphasis on embracing evidence-based strategies and evaluating the efficiency of approaches. I needed to acquire in-depth information on the examinations that help with mental speculations and strategic ideas.

My capacity to understand and speak with others was significantly developed by my volunteering and listening experiences. I have had various obligations, and through them, I have understood the significance of open communication and how it can have an effect. My choice was sound, as these activities empowered me to support my interest in and love for helping other people.

Along with pursuing a profession as a psychologist, I aim to continue working as a support worker. Many individuals imagine that seeing a psychologist demonstrates that an individual is crazy; however, the fact of the matter is very unique. People visit them to try not to get disappointed with themselves. I consider a vocation in psychology to be a stage toward developing a sound and hopeful mind. I genuinely trust that this course will give me the chance to learn and encounter things that will significantly alter the manner in which I approach psychology.
